Mode of Action:

Chlorfenapyr

• It works as Insecticide and acaricide with mainly stomach and some contact action. However also exhibits good translaminar, but limited systemic, activity in plants
• Stomach action - It is activated once ingested and metabolized by the insect
• It works by hindering the target insects' ability to produce energy at the cellular level through disrupting the production of adenosine triphosphate, specifically, "Oxidative removal of the N-ethoxymethyl group of chlorfenapyr by mixed function oxidases
• It fights against resistance development because it takes 24-48 hours for Chlorfenapyr to result in death (allowing exposed insects to pass on susceptible genes to the next generation)

Imidacloprid

• It is a systemic insecticide that translocate rapidly through plant tissues following application
• It affects the central nervous system of Insects - Imidacloprid affects the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) in insects and causes the accumulation of acetylcholine at nerve synapses, which ultimately leads to paralysis and death of the target organism
